PE wrap film (also known as stretch film) is self-adhesive, a single-sided (salivation) or double-sided (blowing) adhesive plastic film that can be stretched and wrapped tightly around the wrapped items, and the self-adhesive adhesive does not adhere to the surface of the wrapped items, but only exists on the surface of the film and the film.

In the packaging process, there is no need for heat shrinkage treatment, which is conducive to saving energy, reducing packaging costs, facilitating assembly and transportation, and improving the efficiency of logistics. The combination of pallets and forklift trucks, the "set full loading and unloading" method reduces transportation costs, while the high transparency also facilitates the identification of the packaged goods and reduces distribution errors.

With the help of the film's super winding force and retractability, the wrap film compactly and securely bundles products into a unit without any loosening and separation of products even under unfavorable conditions, and without sharp edges and stickiness to avoid damage.

Second, the use of PE winding film classification

1、Hand winding film: This kind of film is mainly used for manual packing, hand winding film generally has lower requirements for quality, and the weight of each roll is usually around 4KG or 5KG to facilitate the operation.

2、Machine Wrapping Film: Machine Wrapping Film adopts mechanical packing method, mainly relying on the movement of the goods to drive the die roll for packing, which requires high tensile strength for the film and has certain requirements for the stretch rate of the film, generally the stretch rate is 300% and the roll weight is 15KG.

3、Machine pre-stretch wrap film: this type of wrap film is mainly used in mechanical packing, packing machinery will stretch the stretch film to a certain ratio before wrapping the film around the goods to be packed, relying on the film's resilience to tighten the goods packed, the product quality requirements are high, with high tensile strength, elongation and puncture resistance.

4、Color film: blue, red, yellow, green, black, manufacturers use to package goods while distinguishing products, easy to identify goods.

Third, the PE winding film viscosity control

Good adhesion makes the outside of the goods packaging film layer and layer stick together to make the goods firm, there are two main methods to obtain adhesion: one is to add PIB or its masterbatch in the polymer; the other is to mix VLDPE.

PIB is a translucent viscous liquid, direct addition requires special equipment or equipment modification, generally use PIB masterbatch, PIB out of a process, generally three days, in addition to the temperature, high temperature viscous strong; low temperature is not too viscous, after stretching viscosity greatly reduced. Therefore, it is best to store the finished film within a certain temperature range (recommended storage temperature is 15℃~25℃).

Blended VLDPE, slightly worse viscosity, but no special requirements for equipment, viscosity is relatively stable, not controlled by time, but also affected by temperature, the temperature is higher than 30 ℃ when relatively more viscous, lower than 15 ℃ when the viscosity is slightly worse, can be adjusted by the amount of sticky layer LLDPE to achieve the desired viscosity. This method is mostly used for three-layer co-extrusion.

Four, the characteristics of PE wrap-around film

1. Unitization: This is one of the biggest characteristics of wrap-around film packaging, with the help of the film's super winding force and retractability.
2. Primary protection: Primary protection provides surface protection for the product, forming a very light, protective appearance around the product, thus achieving dust, oil, moisture, water and theft protection. Especially important is that the wrap-around film packaging makes the packaging items evenly stressed, avoiding uneven stress on the items, which is impossible to do with traditional packaging methods (strapping, packing, tape and other packaging).
3. Compression and fixation: Wrap the products with the retraction force after stretching the film to form a compact, space-independent unit as a whole, so that the pallets of products are closely wrapped together, which can effectively prevent the mutual misalignment and movement of the products during transportation, while the adjustable stretching force can make the hard products stick tightly and the soft products tightly, especially in the tobacco industry and the textile industry, which has a unique packaging effect.
4. Cost saving: Using winding film for product packaging can effectively reduce the cost of using winding film, which is only about 15% of the original box packaging, 35% of heat shrinkable film and 50% of carton packaging. At the same time, it can reduce the labor intensity of workers and improve the packaging efficiency as well as the packaging grade.
